Success Stories
The F.C.B.A Skillnet trainees have benefited from improved training and as a result a better career in the
industry. Here are a few concrete examples of successes!

adjacent to their existing one, three operatives who
successfully completed the course have been put in charge of

Brand New Bakery
Two family run bakeries in Cork have
been trading for over a century. They found that
low skill levels and an inability to innovate resulted in
similar difficulties. Both companies availed of the
training programme. While meeting / networking and
facilitating the programme, they realised the benefits to be
achieved from it. Since then the two companies
have decided to amalgamate and build a new bakery on a green
field site. This facility is now fully operational and
boasts a high turnover and higher employment of better trained
staff.

Lower Absenteeism - Higher Turnover
Bakeries that have
taken part in the Network have reported that absenteeism has
decreased substantially since thet introduction of the
Programme.
Other bakeries have improved turnover increases of over 20%
due to higher standards of product and customer
satisfaction. They have attributed this to their staff
being formally trained in the skills and knowledge of their
trade.
